This is a German dark wheat bear with a great combination of caramel, slight chocolate malt, banana and clove yeast. Definitely more exciting than a Hefeweizen, the Whiptail is lightly hopped and highly carbonated–as tasty as it is refreshing! Another great summer-style beer.
History: The Chihuahuan Spotted Whiptail lizard is wary, energetic and fast moving. It can grow to 12 inches long with a tail three times the length of its body. The Whiptail lives equally well in grasslands as in rocky canyons throughout the El Paso-Cd. Juarez area.
Food Pairings: Dunkelweizen goes great with smoked ham and bacon, American barbecue, Mexican Mole, fried chicken, and matured cheeses such as Gouda and Parmesan.
